Neighbours star suffers punctured lung and fractured spine in water sports incident

The Neighbours cast member, who plays Aaron Brennan on the Channel 5 show, announced the news on Instagram.

Matt Wilson, 30, told his 97,100 fans that he had suffered a punctured lung, a fractured spine and sciatica after a water sports accident.

The Australian star posted a video of himself waterskiing before the accident took place.

He wrote: “All this for the low price of one punctured lung, a fractured spine and sciatica. FUN.”

While another added: “Ouch Hope you have a fast recovery.”

A third chimed in: “Get well soon. You do scary stuff sometimes.”

Matt told one fan that he hasn’t had surgery, but does have “a ticket to be lazy for 8 weeks”.

It is not yet known whether the incident will affect his Neighbours filming schedule.

Matt has starred as Aaron is Neighbours since 2015.

He has also appeared in 2017 TV Series Bad Reception, as well as 2014 Short Driver.

Neighbours airs daily on Channel 5 at 1.45pm.
